Overview
Please reference the document below for information regarding who to contact and the correct protocols to follow when purchasing technology. This document also includes information regarding our Hardware Standards. Please share this with staff if they need help purchasing technology. The district does not allow you to purchase any technology, including hardware and software, using your P-Card.
Technology Purchasing Guidelines
Purchase Requisitions
Technology purchase requisitions are completed in Oracle Cloud by building bookkeepers. Approved hardware will be added as a catalog item. These orders will be reviewed/approved through IST. Hardware purchases and Adobe products will require review and additional process. Please plan to allot additional time for this process. These purchases should not be for 1:1 staff or student use as IST provides devices for both staff and student use.
Procurement Credit Cards (P-Cards)
The district does not allow the purchase of technology, including hardware and software, using a P-Card. All technology purchases require a purchase requisition. This includes the purchase of any devices and/or iPads.
Hardware Standards
Technology purchases are limited to what’s been approved on the district’s hardware standards as listed in the Oracle catalog. Any exceptions must be approved by the CIO. Contact Alicia Robison at arobison@usd259.net or 3-4235 in the IST department for the district's hardware standard list.
Copiers
USD 259 is currently only purchasing the Canon DX6780i model and approval is required. Submit your request to your respective assistant superintendent for approval, which will be routed to Susan Willis CFO for approval before IST can place the order for you. Projector Lamp Replacement
The district provides replacement classroom projector lamps at no cost to schools for buildings that have not yet been refreshed with Clear Touch Panels. If you are in need of a replacement bulb, submit an IST Work Order via Freshservice.
Flat Panel (Clear Touch)
Outside of full building refreshes, IST is only installing the Interactive Flat Panels (Clear Touch) to replace failed SmartBoards and/or projectors. IST will troubleshoot SmartBoards and projectors prior to installing the Interactive Flat Panels. If you have failing SmartBoards or Projectors, submit a work order via Freshservice.
