Issue w/Name Change | Securly Filter
Overview
Process to update proxy settings after a name change. When a staff member has a name change, the username does not update in the Securly SmartPAC configuration. This results in the staff member getting the incorrect or default policy applied. They typically notice they do not have access to social media, video streaming or unrestricted YouTube. Below are steps to resolve the issue.
Windows 11
1. Type proxy in the Search bar on your device.
Select Change proxy settings from the pop-up menu options.
2. You will see these options in the Automatic proxy setup. Click on Edit next to Use setup script.
3. Place your cursor at the beginning of the script address and arrow forward until you see your username@usd259.net. Typically, you will see your previous username. (Be careful not to delete anything in this field - just arrow over until you see your username)
4. Update the username to reflect your current username and click Save.
Occasionally this will revert back to the previous username, so it is always a good step to check this configuration if you are receiving the wrong Securly filter policy.
