Receipt Printer Setup | Schoolbooks/Tracks
Changing the printer in the application:
1. Open Tracks.
2. Go to Management -- Customize -- Workstation Settings
3. Choose the Hardware Tab. You will see a Warning message that says "The Report Printer (xxxxxxxx) is no longer available. You will need to enter a valid Report Printer or define this printer."
4. Click OK on the message and then choose the correct printer from the dropdown box.
To Install a Receipt Printer on the PC/Laptop:
The receipt printer for Tracks is a Citizen IDP 3550 model. If the user is having problems printing, uninstalling and re-installing the printer usually will fix the problem if a reboot of the laptop or PC and shutting off/restarting the receipt printer doesn't work.
1. Go to Devices and Printers and delete the existing Receipt Printer if it's there and then select "Add a Printer".
2. Add a local printer. Choose the appropriate port under "Use an existing port". If it is a USB port, generally the printer is connected to the highest numbered port in the dropdown list.
3. Click Next.
4. Then choose the driver- Choose "Generic" for the Manufacturer and "Generic/Text Only" for the Printer and click Next.
5. Name the printer Receipt Printer and click Next.
6. After the printer installs, choose Do Not Share Printer and click Next.
7. Leave the Set as the default printer box UNCHECKED and click Finish
