Student Password Reset Tool | Passwords

The Student Password Reset Tool is a role based power app designed to quickly and conveniently reset passwords for secondary students. This tool can not unlock student accounts. If an account is locked, reset the student's password or contact the Help Desk to unlock the account.

**NOTE** Elementary student passwords should not be changed using this tool due to their passwords being set to mmdd. To unlock an elementary student account, please contact the Help Desk.

Roles

Site Manager- Ability to reset passwords for all students at their building

Power Teacher- Used at the beginning of the year to assist resetting passwords during student device deployment. This role has the ability to reset passwords for all students in the building.

Teacher- Ability to reset passwords for their students only.

To add additional staff to the Power Teacher or Teacher Role, submit a work order in FreshService with the approval from administration.

Accessing the Student Password Tool

The Student Password Reset can be found here or on the ClassLink Portal.

Unlocking the Tool

Enter your Wichita Public Schools 5-digit employee ID. This cannot be changed.
- The application will lock after 30 minutes even if you are active in the tool. You will receive a 2-minute countdown warning before the application locks.
- If you enter the wrong passcode 3 times, the application will freeze.
  - To unfreeze the application, call the IST Help Desk at 973-4357.

Resetting a Password

Enter the student’s 6-digit Pupil Number and press TAB key. (Pressing Tab will populate the First Name, Last Name, and Building along with an 8-character password.)
Click the button to reset the student’s password.
- You will now have 10 seconds to view the password before it is hidden. You can click the button to copy the password.
- Once the timer expires, you will need to click the button to view the password again.

Checking the Status of a Reset

Click the button in the upper left-hand corner of the main screen.
As a Site Manager, you will see all student password resets done the last week for your building.
