How to Backup and Restore your Bookmarks | Web Browser
Overview
Steps to backup and restore bookmarks or favorites in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
Google Chrome
Backup
- Click Customize and control Google Chrome.
- Click Bookmarks and lists.
- Click Bookmark manager.
- Click Organize.
- Click Export bookmarks.

Select the location, name the file, and click Save.
- Google saves your bookmarks in HTML format. You can import them into another browser or view its contents by double-clicking the file and opening it.
Restore
- Click Customize and control Google Chrome.
- Click Bookmarks and lists.
- Click Import bookmarks and settings...
- Select Bookmarks HTML file from the drop-down menu.
- Select Favorites/Bookmarks.
- Click Choose File.
- Locate the file in File Explorer.
- Select the file and click Open.
Microsoft Edge
Backup
- Click Favorites.
- Click More options.
- Click Export favorites.

Restore
- Click Favorites.
- Click More options.
- Click Import favorites.
- Click Choose what to import.
- Select Favorites or bookmarks HTML file from the drop-down menu.
- Check Favorites or bookmarks.
- Click Choose file.
- Locate the file in File Explorer.
- Select the file and click Open.
