Guest Staff Loaner Devices | BOY 2025-2026
Overview
Schools have been given Dell laptops to use as STAFF loaner devices. These are for Guest staff (short or long term) use. These are shared devices and will boot up quickly. These are not intended to be used as student loaner devices.
Setting up Guest Staff Devices
- Plug in and power on the laptops.
- Login as yourself so that the applications/programs may finish fully loading.
- Set the sleep settings to "Never".
- Check the connection to the network.
- Plan on letting the laptop load for at least 1 hour.
- In the search field on the task bar, type Check for Updates.

Run updates.
Using Guest Staff Devices
- Guest Staff will login to the device using their USD259 email address and password.
- Using a web browser, Guest Staff can login to Office.com to utilize Office applications and email.

After Guest Staff are finished with the laptop, there is no need to wipe the device. Their account information will automatically be removed from the device after a certain timeframe.
- Long-term Guest Staff should be added as an Additional Resource on the dashboard (INCLUDE AN END DATE).
- Long-term guest staff covering classrooms, will need to be added as additional staff in Synergy to the teacher's classes in order to be granted access to some applications. Registrar should add them in Synergy.
